How to remove vocals from a song
The old trick of cancelling out the center channel in an audio editor rarely works: the bass and kick drum vanish along with the voice, and reverb from the vocal is still audible. Modern vocal removers use neural networks trained on thousands of multitrack recordings, so they recognize what is a voice and what is an instrument — even when they play at the same time.
